LEMON GROVE – A body was found Wednesday night on state Route 94 in the Lemon Grove area, and all eastbound lanes of the highway were shut down, authorities said.
According to California Highway Patrol, a 27-year-old female from San Diego was driving eastbound at College Ave. when a male pedestrian walked directly into the path of her vehicle. The driver was unable to avoid him.
The pedestrian was hit by the vehicle and four or five other vehicles after the initial hit. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
It is currently unknown if the pedestrian was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision, however the driver was determined not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
