Driver thrown from car after rollover crash off freeway in City Heights

SAN DIEGO – A driver was ejected from his car after it rolled down an embankment in City Heights Friday.

The crash happened around 2:00 AM off the 15 South near Interstate 805 Friday morning, according to the CHP.

CHP officials said the driver lost control of his car for unknown reasons and veered off the freeway. The car then struck a tree and rolled down a hillside.

The rollover caused the driver to be ejected and landed about 40 feet away from the wreckage.

Emergency crews took the unconscious driver to Scripps Mercy Hospital.

No other injuries were reported.
