Crash Prompts Closure of Southbound I-15 in Scripps Ranch

SAN DIEGO – All south bound lanes of Interstate 15 in the Scripps Ranch area were closed Wednesday evening due to a single-vehicle crash that spread debris across the freeway.

The crash occurred close to State Route 163 around 10:00 PM, according to CHP.

Witnesses told the CHP the vehicle spun out and ended up on the right shoulder, leaving behind debris in lanes.

There was a report of a man on the ground in the gore, but that could not be immediately confirmed.

All southbound lanes of the freeway were blocked at Miramar Way at 10:10 PM, Caltrans said.
