SAN DIEGO – Police are still investigating a scooter collision in Linda Vista last night that left a 17-year-old boy injured.
The boy was struck by a car while riding a non-motorized scooter. He jumped over a raised wall into a westbound lane on Genesee Avenue near Richland Street where he was struck by a Ford Focus at about 7 p.m., San Diego Police Department said.
He was hospitalized after he sustained a brain bleed and multiple facial lacerations, but his injuries are not life threatening.
The 38-year-old driver was not injured. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as a cause of the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
