One killed in car crash on I-805 ramp in Fairmount Park

SAN DIEGO – At least one person was killed in a solo vehicle crash near an Interstate 805 transition ramp in the Fairmount Park area, the California Highway Patrol reported Tuesday.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday near the southbound Interstate 805 transition ramp to southbound Interstate 15, according to a CHP incident log.

A witness told dispatchers that a grey Hyundai sedan went off the roadway and into some bushes, according to the log.

At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene, but it was not immediately clear how many people were in the vehicle.

The southbound I-805 to southbound I-15 transition ramp was shut down around 11:50 p.m., then reopened around 2:50 a.m.

CHP officers were investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
